He must smell the big greasy dump Sullivan is taking on his magazine's reputation. Bennet is not ignorant of Sullivan's heinous smears, lies and Jew-baiting. He either can't stop Sullivan, in which case he shouldn't be editor, or he lets Sullivan continue, in which case he is complicit.

You don't have to be a subscriber to complain about the bigotry trying to pass itself off as opinion. Sullivan is the worst kind of hater because he is camouflaging himself as a respectable journalist. He is using the reputation of the Atlantic Monthly as cover. Use the Atlantic Feedback page. Bombard the pinhead with emails about Sullivan. His sputtering misogyny and furious hated of rural America has no place on their servers.

My Email to the Atlantic Monthly

Here is the email I sent to the Atlantic Monthly last week canceling my subscription. Feel free to copy and revise it for your cancellation email. Please be polite or the editors will dismiss you as a nutcase in your pajamas babbling to your beagle. Use the Atlantic Feedback page to send your email.

I have been an Atlantic Monthly subscriber for the last 10 or 12 years. I enjoy the magazine and most of the authors who write for it. However, I can no longer be a party to any organization which supports Andrew Sullivan's blog. Mr. Sullivan's blog is simply intolerable and I refuse to pay for it, even nominally.

In his recent posts Sullivan has revealed himself to be a crude misogynist and a peddler of hateful conspiracy theories. This is not journalism, indeed it barely qualifies as coherent writing, and is unworthy of the Atlantic Monthly. His hateful screeds against Sarah Palin and her family are contemptible. Meanwhile Sullivan's fawning hero-worship of Mr. Obama is not justifiable by any journalistic standards. His continued employment is an embarrassment to the Atlantic Monthly. It's sad, but Andrew Sullivan has devolved into a petty and loathsome annoyance and a joke of a journalist. I cannot support this any longer.

Please cancel my subscription. However, if at some point the Atlantic Monthly and Mr. Sullivan part ways, please feel free to contact me as I will gladly resubscribe.

Andrew Sullivan Must Be Stopped

Andrew Sullivan is destroying the Atlantic Monthly. His smears, outright lies and conspiracy theories are destroying the credibility of a once-great magazine. I subscribed to the Atlantic Monthly for more than 10 years and enjoyed it. Last week I canceled my subscription because I can longer bare to support Sullivan's hateful screeds through my payments.

Once upon a time Sullivan may have been a respected journalist (just as, say, David Irving was once a respected historian). Now, however, he is quite simply a bigot, a misogynist, and a Jew-baiting crank. The Obama candidacy has unhinged him. His increasingly vile writings have no place in respectable, civilized discourse. I am urging all subscribers to cancel their subscriptions. Please you this link to the Atlantic Feedback Page.
